We’ve had an amazing start to our Summer STEAM Camp! Today concludes Session 1’s first week, with classes in iOS App Development, 3D Printing, Digital Songwriting, and so much more. Students have the option to continue the learning by enrolling in the second week which begins Monday. Check out what our awesome students have accomplished from the first three days below:

Instructor Emily discusses the different types of microphones used to record music.

In the morning section of Digital Songwriting, Emily taught her students how to use Logic Pro X, Apple’s powerful digital audio software. They also analyzed the structure of popular songs like Shape of You by Ed Sheeran and Malibu by Miley Cyrus. Students discovered the difference between a verse, chorus, pre-chorus, and bridge in songs.

Student work in 3D Printing & Design, taught by Brianne and Rob S.

In 3D Printing & Design, students learn how to create their very own 3D models in Tinkercad, a free online 3D design app – all you need is an email to make your free account. Then students learn how to operate the 3D Printer to see their creations become physical objects! Students designed their own personalized robot figures to take home with them.

Instructor Celina teaches students to use Wacom drawing tablets to create movement in Photoshop.

In Essentials of Flash Animation, students begin by learning how to draw and animate the movement of a bouncing ball across the screen. The class has already moved on to more complex movements like illustrating and animating the walking cycle of a person!
