Rob's Tech Tip

For those that like to take handwritten notes (like myself), digitizing your notes is a tedious process. I personally like to keep an archive of my notes in Evernote, so after each meeting I need to retype my notes into my computer. I could use a note taking app for the iPad or use the stylus included with my Samsung Note 2 to takes notes, but I personally find taking notes on a digital device ineffective. Livescribe has a product that will alleviate this issue!

The Livescribe 3 Smartpen is a pen the digitizes your notes as you write. You write, and the pen records what you’re writing. What’s more is the pen will actually record audio while you’re writing, so you not only have a digital archive of your notes, but you can play back the audio from the meeting as well! The really cool thing about the Livescribe 3 is that it will send the notes you’re writing wirelessly to your iOS device. Previously, you had to dock the pen with your computer and upload the notes and audio. Now, you simply write, and the notes show up in the LiveScribe app on your iPhone or iPad. The only stipulation is that you have to write on space dot paper, but the notebooks are not expensive.
For anyone who prefers to write on paper, the Livescribe 3 is an awesome investment.
